My report says a condition couldn't be assessed — what does that mean?

It means the acoustic patterns in your sample were not sufficient for a reliable score on that condition. It does not mean the condition is absent, so re-record in a quieter room if needed and still see a clinician if you have symptoms.

Can I upload a cough recording made on another device?

Yes. Choose Upload WAV File at step 1 and use the same quality guidance: quiet room, device close to your mouth, and three to five natural coughs.

You don't need an appointment, a spirometer, or any medical background. You need a quiet room, a device with a microphone, and a few minutes. Here's what each step asks of you.

Choose how to share your cough

Two options, and neither needs special equipment. Record live with the microphone already in your phone or laptop, or upload a WAV file you recorded earlier.

Record via microphone — the fastest route. Your browser will ask for permission once; nothing is captured until you press Record.
Upload a WAV file — useful if you recorded at home, in a clinic, or on behalf of someone who can't sit at the screen.

Cough naturally, three to five times

Press Record and cough the way you normally would. The recorder runs up to 15 seconds and needs at least 5. Pause if you need a breath, or clear the take and start again.

Find a quiet environment with minimal background noise.
Hold your device 6–12 inches from your mouth.
Cough 3–5 times, pausing briefly between each.
10–15 seconds of audio is usually plenty.

See your spectrogram, then add your symptoms

Your recording is converted into a spectrogram — a picture of which frequencies appeared, and when. Below it, you tell us how you've actually been feeling, which sharpens the risk assessment.

Recording summary — source, date, duration and file size, so you can confirm the right sample was picked up.
Demographics — age group, gender and smoking status.
Current symptoms — fever, shortness of breath, wheezing, and sputum or phlegm.
Vitals — how many days you've had symptoms, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.

One button. The model compares the acoustic patterns in your cough against its training and returns probability scores for several respiratory conditions, weighted by the details you entered.

Risk scores

How closely your cough matches each condition

Conditions are scored as a percentage and banded High, Medium or Low. A high score is a prompt to get checked — it is not a finding. Percentages indicate probability of presence based on acoustic analysis only.

Quality check

Whether the sample was good enough

Signal quality, noise level, coughs detected and duration. If noise is high or no cough events were detected, re-record somewhere quieter before you act on the numbers.

Doctor's review

A clinician's read on your session

Diagnosis, clinical notes and recommendations, with the date of review. Until a doctor signs off, the record stays marked Pending in your dashboard.

Limits

When the model says it doesn't know

If a condition can't be assessed reliably from your sample, the report says so outright instead of guessing — and an insufficient-data notice is not the same as a negative result.
